Tim has served as President of LCC since October of 2001. Tim served in parish ministry for 24 years in the LCMS as a Director of Christian Education, 22 of those years in the Northern Illinois District. The last 20 years Tim has served as Director of Discipleship and Good Samaritan Ministries at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine, Illinois. He has also been involved at the District level having served two terms on the Board of Directors, Mission Board, and Board of Youth Ministry. Tim is currently teaching a Bible Study called WORD - with over 450 students from 26 different churches plus Internet students. Each year Tim leads study tours in the Middle East.
Phil brings more than 30 years of marketing, communications and management experience to LCC. He has been Involved with a number of entrepreneurial start-ups and has worked for divisions of Fortune 500 companies such as HarperCollins, Time and CBS. He has extensive experience with Christian publishers, ministries and non-profits including Christianity Today, Family Christian Stores, Thrivent, ONE.org and the LCMS. He was a board member of LCC for ten years.
Jim joined LCC in August of 2014. He serves in the area of Ministry Advancement for LCC and the K-9 Ministries. Jim previously owned and operated an Ethan Allen home furnishings store. Jim has experience in leading adult Bible Study, small group studies, and men's ministries.
Norm Joined LCC in September of 2014. Norm attended Elmhurst College, and is an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Illinois. He is a Navy Veteran and served in DaNang, Vietnam from 1967 through 1968. For the past 40 years, Norm was a Manufacturer's Sales Representative, covering Illinois and Wisconsin. Norm and Nancy have been married for 45 years, have three adult children, and two grandchildren. Norm looks forward to working at LCC with the Kare-9 Military Ministry Dogs serving veterans affected by PTSD and other issues resulting from Viet Nam and Middle East conflicts
Beth joined LCC in July 2014. Previously she worked in finance as a personal banker in St. Louis, MO. Beth grew up in St. Louis, MO. Her father is the Director of Vicarage at Concordia Seminary – St. Louis and her mother is a nurse for the Missouri Regional Poison Center. Beth first got involved with LCC in handler training and then went on to join the LCC staff. She currently is the Administrative Assistant to the President.
Joel joined LCC in March 2014. Joel began ministry as a teacher for St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Brookfield, Illinois (3 years). Joel then served as a resident director and athletic coach for Concordia University-Chicago (7 years). Joel returned to the classroom serving Gloria Dei Lutheran School in Chicago (5 years) and Trinity Lutheran School in Paw Paw, Michigan (1-1/2 years). Joel earned both a BA in Elementary Education (1997) and an MA in Reading Instruction (2004) from Concordia University Chicago. He is also a graduate of the LCMS School Leadership Development (SLeD) Program.
Vida started with LCC in January of 2002. She previously worked as VP of Operations of Leasemark, Inc. Vida is an experienced Adult Bible Study leader, small group leader and seminar/retreat speaker.
Jamie has more than 30 years experience in the construction of and supervision of buildings. He was responsible for the complete remodeling of our new facility, turning 20,000 feet of classrooms and storage into spacious and very usable offices. He helped plan and install our security systems. Jamie is now working on the design and soon the construction of what will be our new multi-media communications studio. Jamie is also on the team that assesses disaster areas to determine what our response should be and making sure the necessary tools are available. Originally from the Detroit area, Jamie came to the Chicago area as a die-hard Tigers and Lions fans. He has since broadened his allegiances to include two teams in the bear family.
Marie joined LCC in September 2003 and is working in the areas of Deaf Ministry and general Ministry Development. Marie has a Masters Degree in Social Work and previously worked as Vice President/Administrator of Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights.
Rev. Roger Pollock
Roger was raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and graduated from Concordia, River Forest in 1969. He served for two years as a Director of Christian Education and Youth in Omaha, Nebraska, before entering Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. After graduating from the Seminary in 1975, he served congregations in Falls City, Nebraska, Davenport, Iowa, and Elgin, Illinois. Retiring after 35 years as a pastor he is presently employed by Provena Health Systems as a Registry Chaplain. He also serves as the chaplain for Elgin and South Elgin and Countryside fire departments with special training in Critical Incident Stress Management and Spiritual Care in Crisis Intervention by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.
Richard (Rich) Martin, CDE
Richard is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine. Rich had been a volunteer with LCC since 2005 in disaster response and with the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs. He came on staff with LCC in 2012 and made Director in 2013. His background includes leadership positions with Fortune 100 & 500 brands at the Director level as well as having a financial services background. Rich is a CDE (Christian Development Executive) and Gift Planning Counselor. As a Gift Counselor, Rich helps individuals with planning for their families and to continue the work of the ministries they care most about.
With a heart to serve, Rich is Board President of the Immanuel Lutheran School Education Foundation and formerly Board President of Countryside Association for people with disabilities in Palatine, Illinois. His wife, Dona, is also a Director of LCC's K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry. Their daughter, Sofie, (an Immanuel graduate) is a graduate of Carthage College.
Dona joined the staff of LCC in July of 2010 as Volunteer Coordinator for domestic and foreign disasters. She also supported the K-9 Comfort Dog ministry in training and site visits. In January 2013 Dona became a Director of the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry, along with her husband, Rich. Dona coordinates K-9 site visits, works with K-9 handlers, the Training of Trainers School and in placement of K-9 Comfort Dogs nationally. Dona also responds to national disasters with LCC K-9 Comfort Dog "Ruthie".
Dona has an extensive background in business, previously as a Principal Partner in a large insurance firm based in New Jersey.
Dona is a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School where she served as Vice President of the School Board and President of the PTL during the time her daughter, Sofie, attended school there.
Teresa is a Canine Behavior Specialist. She has worked with wildlife rehabilitation and zoo animals. Teresa chose dogs as her specialty roughly 25+ years ago. She has been training people to become dog trainers for the past 15 years. She sits as an officer on the board of directors for two canine rescue and two Great Dane breed clubs. Continuing education is a driving part of how Teresa thinks, University of Wisconsin, Madison along with the many current canine studies are sources of inspiration. Teresa is wife to Joe, mother to Steven, aunt to Reese and loves her family. She thanks Jesus every day for the life she has.
Dan Fulkerson came to LCC in March 2014 after many years of volunteering with the K9 ministry in his church, Holy Cross Lutheran in Portage, Indiana. Dan and his wife, Karen, are the caregivers for K-9 Comfort Dog Barnabas. Dan has traveled to Sandy Hook and Colorado as well as numerous places in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. They also respond to disasters both locally and nationally with LCC. Dan and Karen have two grown children, one grandson and another grandchild due in July.
Jeanne has worked with dogs for over 33 years volunteering with 4-H, training, and instructing classes, 10 of those years instructing offenders where many of the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs received training. Watching a team develop between a handler and dog is a reward for all the hard work that is put into the relationship. Jeanne is active in her local church with high school ministry, missions, and praise team. She has been blessed with a supportive husband, David. Jeanne also has two adult children, son Casey and daughter Ashlee (Aaron) and grandson Jack.
Hannah has been involved in LCC’s Comfort Dog ministry program since first experiencing the dogs in high school. Now taking college courses on-line through Concordia University Wisconsin, she plans to graduate with a BA in Theology and a Certificate in Lay Ministry in 2018. In the meantime she helps to train our younger dogs so they can become Comfort Dogs and is many times deployed to areas where tragedies have occurred, particularly schools. On weekends and on special events, Hannah and her boyfriend have been performing Partner Acrobatics. They have been involved with the annual Triton Trooper Circus, have been one of the acts featured in the Chicago Bulls “Incredibulls” at half times and were featured on the Steve Harvey Show performing on broken glass!
Dianna joined the LCC staff in September 2005, the Sunday following Hurricane Katrina, to coordinate LCC volunteers going to assist with disaster relief and recovery. She has previously served in parish ministry at Immanuel Elmhurst, and for thirteen years, with the Northern Illinois District Office in Older Adult Ministry and training volunteers throughout the district. In her duties as Deaconess, Dianna serves by enabling LCC volunteers and members of congregations use the gifts and talents that God has given them to serve others in Jesus' name.
Marissa was born in Hartland, WI and received her BA in Communications at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. There she became acquainted with the Lutheran Campus Ministry where she felt the call into ministry. She received her Masters in Theology and a Masters in Deaconess Studies at Concordia Seminary. Her field work included ministry in a federal prison in Greenville, Il. Marissa is a brown belt in Judo and is training for the 2016 Paralympics games. Her involvement in Judo began in 2011 at a sports camp for the blind. At the end of her junior year in high school her she was paired with her seeing eye dog, “Malibu”. They have been together for seven years.
Sherry joined the staff of LCC in October 2013. Sherry previously served as a Director of Christian Education at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg, Illinois. Sherry is blessed with her husband Chad and daughter Annabelle. Sherry is an active member at St. Peter Lutheran Church and enjoys being involved in various ministries throughout the community.
Debbie joined the LCC staff in August 2005. Debbie previously worked as a School Secretary at Immanuel Lutheran in Elmhurst, Illinois. Past occupations were as an executive secretary and office manager.
Debbie is married and has three grown children and three grandchildren. Debbie currently executes the office management and the processing of donations for LCC.
Erin has been an associated with LCC since 2011. She graduated from the College of Dupage with an AAS in Fire Science. She has her Fire Fighter II and EMT licenses. Erin volunteered in Joplin during the tornado disaster and loved helping those in need. She looks forward to work once again with LCC and that she can, day by day, spread God's word through our work.
Amanda joined the LCC staff in February 2012. She previously worked as the school secretary at St Matthew Lutheran School in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, where she has been an active church member all of her life. Prior to that she was a stay at home mom. Amanda is married and has two children; a daughter in middle school and a son in high school.
Bethany joined the LCC staff in June 2013. Previously, she was a teacher for four years at Lutheran Unity West/St. Paul Canfield in Chicago, Illinois, where she taught at both the 2nd and 3rd grade levels. Prior to that, she spent four years teaching 2nd grade at St. Matthew Lutheran School in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, where she has been a church member her entire life. Bethany is married and is currently taking time off from teaching to spend more time with her infant daughter.
Dana joined LCC in January 2010. Previously, Dana was the Technology Director at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hawthorn Woods, IL where she was responsible for the technology infrastructure for the church and school, website strategy and development, and teaching technology to students from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Under Dana's direction, two computer labs were designed, developed, and implemented, as well as interactive whiteboards and a mobile computer lab for use in classrooms. Dana's MBA and prior experience as web manager for a Fortune 100 company bring corporate experience and knowledge to LCC. Dana is committed to furthering God's Kingdom through the use of technology, and works with other LCMS congregations in this endeavor. Dana and her family are active members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and School in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois.
A native of Palatine IL, Joe is in charge of the LCC IT network, making sure it is up and running as well as up-to-date. He is currently working on his degree in Network Systems Administration at DeVry University but is not a one-dimensional computer nerd. He loves travel so much he has driven through all 48 states, plus enjoys swimming, fishing, skiing, computers and computer games. But most importantly he is engaged to be married in October of 2016.
Dave Marks has been working with Lutheran Church Charities’ social media ecosystem since July 2012 and has helped grow the online presence and reach of LCC, K-9 Comfort Dogs, and the Kare-9 Military Ministry. He also assists with development and communications. Dave has traveled with LCC to a few deployments including Newtown, CT and Boston, MA. He has a Master's of Public Health from Benedictine University. Dave has been a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Barrington, IL all of his life and volunteers with St. Matthew's Special in God's Eyes group for young adults with special needs.
Kolyssa joined LCC in February 2013. Kolyssa had been doing freelance video production and photography since 2009. She graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a B.A. in Multimedia and Mass Communication. She first heard of LCC when the K-9 Comfort Dogs came to Concordia during exam week of her junior year. She fell in love with the ministry, and is thrilled to work with LCC by contributing her multimedia skills. Kolyssa's husband, Marshal, is a student at Concordia Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
