There are a variety of ways to contribute financially to the mission and ministry of Lutheran Church Charities.

Direct Gifts
Direct gifts, which allow your donation to benefit Lutheran Church Charities immediately, include:
Donations
You may make a gift by cash, check, money order, or by credit card. Lutheran Church Charities accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card, American Express and PayPal. Please make checks and money orders payable to Lutheran Church Charities.
Honorary and Memorial Gifts
Honorary gifts are given in recognition of individuals or anniversaries or other special events. Memorial gifts are given to support the special ministries and commemorate the life accomplishments of individuals who have passed away.
You may give a gift in honor/memory of someone special online or by sending it to our offices. Simply state of whom you would like to give the gift in honor/memory. If you would like the person honored or the family of the deceased remembered to receive acknowledgment, please give contact information for us to send an acknowledgment.
Memorial and honorary gifts can be designated for a specific ministry or project or can be undesignated. They may also be set up as named endowments for ministry purposes. For more information, please contact Tim Hetzner, President of LCC at 866-455-6466.

Electronic Funds Transfer
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has programs that enable donors to contribute by electronic funds transfer. This ongoing, systematic and consistent giving can help sustain the organization by providing steady revenues. With electronic funds transfer, there are no lost or forgotten donations, the donor controls the frequency and amount of transfers, withdrawals and changes are made only with donor approval. Personal information is kept strictly confidential and there are no fees for the service.

Matching Gifts
A corporate matching gift program can multiply the value of a gift to Lutheran Church Charities. These programs allow employees to direct their employer's charitable giving to the benefit of LCC. The human resources or employee benefits office should know if the company will match gifts. Donors may also qualify for a matching gift program from their former employer, their spouse's current or former employer or the company on whose board they serve.
Appreciated Securities
Gifts of appreciate stock, mutual funds or other securities are a quick, easy way to support Lutheran Church Charities. The donation of stock which has been held for more than one year will qualify for a deduction of the stock's entire market value and no capital gains taxes will be due.

Real Estate
Gifts of appreciated real estate, such as undeveloped land, farms, or personal residences may be transferred by deed to Lutheran Church Charities with no liability for income or estate taxes on the appreciation. The donation of property owned more than one year will qualify for the deduction of the property's appraised value and no capital gains will be due.

Tangible Personal Property
Tangible personal property includes assets that can be touched or moved, e.g., jewelry, rare coins, stamps, etc. A gift of tangible personal property to Lutheran Church Charities can generate a charitable tax deduction; however, there are IRS regulations regarding the deduction.
The property must be put to a use related to Lutheran Church Charities mission to qualify the full market value of the asset as a charitable deduction. Otherwise the deduction is limited to the cost of the asset.

- Tax and Shipping: There is no tax as these donations are considered Charitable Contributions to a 501(c)3 organization. Shipping and Handling costs may be separate, depending on your request for a priority response

Non-Monetary Donation Form |

Thank you for making a non-monetary donation to a worthy cause through Lutheran Church Charities. Please use the below form to report the items you are making available to others for FREE. If you enter an e-mail address into the form, you will receive a receipt by e-mail; otherwise, your computer will display a new web screen that you can print out and use as your receipt.
Two important items to remember:
- Only use this form for Non-Monetary Donations. Cash, check and credit card donations will be mailed acknowledgement letters separately.
- List those items that you are making available, but do not list any dollar amounts. The receipt you will receive is for your tax purposes, and LCC gratefully acknowledges your donation, but we do not make, verify, or approve any dollar value attached to the donation. You will assign your own value for your tax purposes.

Dollar-In Dollar-Out Pass-Through Donations |
|

 Lutheran Church Charities operates with a policy where 100% of the money donated to a specific need, goes toward that need. The transaction costs will be paid by LCC administrative funds, not from a percentage off of the donation.
Non-Designated gifts will be applied toward the most urgent need.

Car Donations |

Do you have a car or van that still has some life left in it? Consider donating it to LCC. There is a constant need for reliable transportation. Your donation of a car or van can help families to get back on the road to financial stability. Your donation can Make A Difference in someone’s life. These laws (effective since 2005) DO NOT affect donations made to Lutheran Church Charities. They only affect donations of cars made to organizations which sell the vehicles. All vehicles that are donated to LCC go directly out to families or individuals through our congregations. NO vehicles are sold.

Items Free for the Asking
LCC works THROUGH churches and is not a Direct Service Ministry. To request an item on our “Free for the Asking” list please contact your Church and ask that they call us (866-455-6466) requesting an item. Arrangements will then be made to connect the item with you. If you are not a member of a Christian Church then please call LCC to place you in contact with one of our LCMS churches who can assist you. See the complete list of items available...
Items Available to a Ministry

Thrivent Choice
Thrivent Choice is the new charitable grant program through which Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members are able to direct Thrivent charitable funds. Eligible members are designated Choice Dollars, based on insurance premiums, contract values, and Thrivent Financial volunteer leadership, which can be directed by the member to Lutheran Church Charities. You can also select to make your choice recurring.
